SPS Comemerce kicked off our Black History month activities today by hosting an event for our global teams. After a compelling presentation from Dr. Yohuru Williams, we broke off into small groups to work through discussion questions.
Many of the small groups were led by our Tech leaders, who helped drive conversation around personal “I will” statements, and the commitment we all are making to dismantling systemic racism. Small groups shared how they will turn their awareness and understanding into action. They explored how we are working toward influencing change, highlighting steps they take as individuals, in our communities, and at SPS to be the change we want to see.
We will continue to explore this topic, and celebrate Black History month through events that have been created by our BBRG (Black Business Resource Group). With events, activites and learning opportunities that include HBCU virtual tours, Black History trivia, and a happiest of happy hours, we are really looking forward to many opportunitoies to learn more and continue this journey!
